Before a visitor enters the museum building, they are made aware of the space ahead by not only the name and façade but a suitable setting to the whole place through a fitting landscape. The landscape though primarily a garden matching the building components and based on the local flora, has thematic objects displayed as per the concept of the collections of the institutions setting up the museum.

A few objects which have lesser worth inside the museum galleries like an oversized object, like tanks or jeep in case of war museums, which is difficult to view within the gallery, becomes an attractive part of the landscape . Sometime large sculptures, maybe slightly defaced to display in artificial interior lights, looks amazing in natural light outdoors.

At times the collection is far and few whereas there is a strong storyline to relate, murals are made out and placed on the outer part along with plants to create a suitable landscape. It is almost always that the landscaping becomes an integral part of a museum display.

Landscaping of the Xuan Zang memorial, Nalanda, Bihar, Grenadier’s museum and Signal museum, Jabalpur, M.P., Maharaja Ranjit Singh museum, Ludhiana , Punjab changed the appearance pleasantly.

Building architecture is basic to start a museum setting. Or in other words, museums are set in existing buildings. Quite a few building architecture had to be altered by us to make way for the display.Large windows in galleries needed to be walled up for creating display area in the Garhwal museum at Lansdowne, Uttarakhand, ASI site museum at Chanderi,M.P.The façade was altered to make an impressive entrance gate. Similarly, entrance gate of Grenadier’s and Signals museum  at Jabalpur, ASI site museum Chanderi were altered and replaced. Changes in flooring, paneling and electrical circuits is common  to most of the museum works taken up by us.
